Michelle Hackett

Shelly reigns from Tyrone, where her background is in Orthopedic and Neurosurgery nursing, and Personal Training. After immigrating to NY, she became the Operations Manager of a successful Physical Therapy & Wellness Clinic in the heart of Manhattan. It was here that she developed her expertise, not only in business management, but also holistic health.

A keen sportswoman, she suffered a serious hip injury. Although this put her out of action for quite some time, it was through her tedious rehab that she learned the love for Pilates. She went on to certify as a Pilates instructor to teach others its benefits to overall health, conditioning, and injury prevention.

These days you will find her combining her medical and fitness background as a Course Lecturer at a Personal Training College in the city, educating students who are preparing to certify as the next top trainers in NYC.

Amy Brett

Amy hails from Mayo, and if you know her, you'll already know that! Following a Business and Law degree from UCD, Amy moved to NY 8 years ago, where she started to develop a deep love for working with people and organizing events. She brings the community together through Matives NYC and is the driving force behind many charitable fundraisers. Currently working as an Operations and Events Manager for a PR company in Manhattan, Amy specializes in the logistics of Slainte Retreats.

Amy is extremely passionate when it comes to fitness and everything it incorporates - not only the health aspect, but the interaction with like-minded people she meets through it. She completed the NYC marathon in November 2021 and the Dublin marathon in October 2022. From Shelly's influence, she also developed a love for Pilates after seeing its incredible benefits when suffering from Piriformis Syndrome, a common and frustrating injury seen in runners. Other types of exercises she loves are HIIT classes, weight training and of course GAA.

However, as quick as you would find her at a gym class or out on a run, you'd also find her at a bar - her love for espresso martinis goes unmatched - more than likely telling someone Mayo will win Sam this year..
